In 2009, the Knights of Columbus launched a new initiative designed to keep kids warm in harsh winter climates. With many families with young children struggling in tough economic times, there was a clear need to provide warm winter coats to children in their communities. And so, the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program was born. Since the program's inception, the Knights of Columbus in the United States and Canada has given away 150,000 coats to children in need. More than 1,000 of local Knights of Columbus councils have participated in their communities. Arizona Knights Collect School Supplies for Foster Kids

Knights from Council 10050, in Scottsdale, Ariz., partnered with local charity OCJ Kids to host a “Tools 4 Success” School Supply Drive. OCJ Kids collects school supplies for children in foster care who might not otherwise have what they need to succeed in their education. Knights in the Philippine city of Koronadal have built a close relationship with the indigenous B’lann people. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Knights provided them with financial aid and necessities like food. The relationship has also helped men in the B’laan community to grow as fathers and has fostered greater Mass attendance.
