On August 8, 2023, wildfires broke out on the island of Maui in Hawaii, causing widespread devastation to communities. Among the buildings destroyed was Sacred Hearts School in Lahaina. Winter comes early in Alaska, and so does the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program! Members of St. Benedict Council 12290 in Anchorage handed out almost 500 coats to kids in need at a back-to-school event organized by the city’s police department. Since it began in 2009, Coats for Kids has provided nearly 1 million warm winter coats to families across the United States, Canada, and around the world.
