The Artist Behind the K of C Prayer Icon

This fall, the Knights of Columbus launched a new prayer program featuring a pilgrim icon of St. Joseph. Framed copies of the icon will travel from council to council and serve as a centerpiece for prayer and inspiration. The icon, based on a drawing by Alexandre Sobolev, was written by Canadian artist Élizabeth Bergeron. The Last Living Witness to WWII German Surrender

On Sept. 17, 2021, 98-year old Louis Graziano, a World War II veteran and Knight, received the French Legion of Honor. During the war, Graziano landed on D-Day in the third wave on Omaha Beach and was later in the Battle of the Bulge. He is the last known living witness to the German surrender, which ended hostilities in Europe. As a Knight, he has made a significant impact on the growth of the Order in Thomson, Ga. After their second child, Renzo’s job kept him absent mentally and emotionally, which affected his relationship with Monica.
