On D-Day he had just turned 19 and was serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. For 70 years he never talked about it. At 4:00 AM on D-Day, they started lowering their boats and headed toward the beach. He froze when he had to open the ramp. Machine gun bullets were "hitting like a typewriter" and killed 13 or 14 men on his boat. Recounting the day, he said, “Do I go back into the belly of the beast? I said to myself, if I don’t go back, somebody’s gonna have to take my place. And if they’re killed, I couldn’t live with that for the rest of my life.” We salute Frank De Vita and all of the brave men and women of the Armed Forces who have courageously served their nation.

Become a member of the Knights today: http://www.kofc.org/joinus The Kansas City Chiefs' kicker and repeat Super Bowl champion Harrison Butker succeeded in all four of his field goal attempts to help lead his team to victory in the 2024 Super Bowl. Before Butker became one of the NFL’s top kickers, he was college teammates at Georgia Tech with Grant Aasen. The teammates started off on the wrong foot. Yet a mutual desire to grow in their Catholic faith would lead them to find faith, fraternity and brotherhood in the Knights of Columbus, and for one of them a priestly vocation.
