When Hurricane Fiona ravaged Puerto Rico in September 2022, 80% of the population lost power, and one-third was left without safe drinking water. Knights of Columbus immediately stepped in to offer support and supplies. Brother Knights Rescue Nuns and Parish Priest following Hurricane Ian

In September 2022, Hurricane Ian struck the Fort Myers area with devastating winds and flooding. The storm surge toppled the 8-foot walls of the Poor Clare Nuns’ San Damiano Monastery, trapping the sisters and their parish pastor. Knowing they would still be at the Monastery, local Knights trekked to the island that is home to the monastery and rescued the Poor Clares and their pastor, who had been trapped for four days.
