For years, Adam Carlile knew he wanted to be a missionary. What he didn’t know was where. Adam has now spent over ten years in the Caribbean nation of the Dominican Republic. As the Co-Director of Building Bridges of Hope, his work focuses on helping at-risk children along the border with Haiti. With a 25% infant mortality rate in the area, his organization is currently building a medical clinic to create safer conditions for local children. Thanks to the generous support of Knights across the United States, these facilities are quickly becoming a reality.

Canadian Priest and Knight Battles Wildfires

Father Gerald Mendoza is a priest of the Archdiocese of Grouard-McLennan in Northern Alberta and a Knights of Columbus. The wildfires raging across Canada have heavily affected the communities he serves in an isolated part of the country. In response to the disaster and destruction, Father Mendoza volunteered to battle the blaze to help keep his community safe. Natural disasters, like the Canadian wildfires, can happen anytime and anywhere.
