Discovering a Homeless Man’s Surprising Identity – Patrick Lubrano

Patrick Lubrano had a chance meeting with a man experiencing homelessness on the side of a highway. The man recognized the Knights of Columbus insignia on Patrick’s clothing and identified himself as a former Catholic priest. Wanting to help the man and others like him, Patrick began collecting blankets and other supplies for those experiencing homelessness in Denver. When he approached his Grand Knight for support, he enthusiastically got behind the effort. Despite his own personal health challenges, including the need for a heart transplant, Patrick continues his work, inspiring his Brother Knights along the way.

His recovery was fraught with intense challenges, including the urge to commit suicide. Jose overcame his addiction and has now been sober for 29 years.
